USTA Texas Pilgrimage – May, 2026

On May 2 and May 3, 2026 the USTA lead by Grandmaster Doug Cook embarked on a USTA Texas Pilgrimage. The pilgrimage began on May 2 with an GM Cook/USTA lead Traditional Taekwondo seminar at PKC Karate located in Austin, Texas, headed by Grandmaster Jason Pratt. After the seminar GM Cook officiated/ USTA Instructors/members judged at a PKC Karate Dan testing. Thank you to GM Pratt for inviting GMC and the USTA to his school. The second part of the USTA Texas Pilgrimage, May 3 took part in Houston. Tx at Kim Soo Martial Arts. GM Kim Soo graciously introduced our USTA group to the style of Martial Arts that he created known as Chayon-Ryu. Thank you GM Kim Soo for the remarkable insite and philosophy of the Chayon-Ryu Method. Thank you Master Alberto Borjas for presenting me with a copy of the book both GM Kim Soo and he wrote.

Thank you GM Pratt and GM Kim Soo both for your hospitality toward GM Cook and our USTA group.

Last but not least Thank you GM Cook, Patty Cook and to all my fellow USTA Texas Pilgrimage comrades for an educational, enriching and highly successful USTA pilgrimage.
